Introduction¶
General Information¶
Challenger Rocket is a professional data recovery and forensic instrument.
Challenger Rocket can work with or without
the Challenger PCI board.
Challenger Rocket runs ONLY in its native Environment, ChallengerOS Linux Operating System.
ChallengerOS can be executed in a live environment like DVD or USB Stick or ( better ) installed on any hard disk drive as local disk or external device.
Challenger Rocket is available for LINUX platform for data recovery and forensic purposes like disk cloning, imaging and data analysis tasks.
Challenger Rocket has the ability of sending physical commands to computer connected devices, helping to solve most of problems of any damaged hard disk device.
Purpose¶
The suite allows data recovery from any drives connected to the Challenger PCI board and from any other data storage device connected to computer ports identified by the operating system.
Fields of suite application:
- data recovery from physically damaged HDD
- data recovery in cases of damaged logical structures
- forensic acquisition and analysis of storage devices
Note
Under physically malfunctioning devices we mean drives with damaged disk surfaces or head assembly and corrupted service information resulting in unstable reading and multiple errors.
Under logical structure damage we mean here such damage to logical structures, caused by failures or malfunctions of a drive or operating system, incorrect user actions or virus activity.
Challenger Rocket will help you to create a complete or partial copy of the data from a malfunctioning drive saving it directly to another HDD or to image files.
During the procedure user data will be read from the malfunctioning drive and copied selectively. Such approach helps decrease considerably the volume of data read from the failing drive making respectively lower the load on the device and the time required for data recovery.

Note
On some cases like SD Cards or specific hard disk devices you will need a separate adaptor / converter non provided with ChallengerOS
