How to install and use Photoshop on ChallengerOS Linux
Download ChallengerOSWe all know that Adobe Photoshop is the most widely used software tool for photo editing and that it usually works exclusively on Windows and macOS.
In order to install it on other OS, like Linux, you usually have to follow an extremely long process or you have to rely on alternative programs, that may not have the same function or run as fast as Photoshop.
In this article tho, we will explain to you how, contrary to what I previously said, not only you can install Photoshop on a different OS from Windows and macOS, but also in an easier way that will make it run perfectly on your computer!
Let's see how.
Let's start by saying that ChallengerOS is a new Operating System based on Patrick Volkerding's Slackware Linux. It is stable, fast, and can be flashed onto a USB stick of virtually any size. It can be used on any Personal Computer, Server, or Notebook.
That said, you can install Photoshop on ChallengerOS in 5 easy steps:
Unlike other Linux-based OS (or Linux itself), installing Photoshop on ChallengerOS Linux is super easy, it doesn't involve any terminal coding, and Photoshop runs as well as on Windows and macOS.
All the same, things you could do in previous versions of Photoshop can be done in Photoshop Portable. You can edit photos with various filters, use masks, draw digital art with a variety of brushes and tools, etc.
Projects developed in Photoshop Portable can also be exported into several familiar formats, like JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and GIF. Based on how these various versions function, there are no limitations compared to the older Creative Studio versions.

The major difference between the Portable and the regular version of Photoshop is the cost: Photoshop Portable is completely free, while regular Photoshop must be purchased on Adobe Creative Cloud.
But what if you don't want Photoshop, but something similar?
Here are some online and alternative options.
Of course there's no online version of Photoshop yet, but there are some good online alternatives that do not require installation.
These are the two we recommend:
Photopea is a free advanced image editor for creating and manipulating raster graphics online.
With its Photoshop-like user interface (sidebar, menu, toolbar, history, etc.) and support for standard image formats, Photopea it's an ideal substitute.
It also features support for working with other popular graphics formats such as .XD, RAW, .sketch, PSD, and XCF. It is completely free to use as long as you don’t mind the displayed ads.
Pixlr is an online free but closed source image editing software that gives users the ability to creatively manipulate images using different editing tools and millions of free effects. It features three subscription plans which include Free, Premium and Creative Pack.
The platform can be used on desktop and also smartphones and tablets. Pixlr is compatible with various image formats such as JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, PSD (Photoshop Document) and PXZ (native Pixlr document format).
If you do want an alternative Photoshop software, instead of an online option, there are some valid products out there.
